Chevrolet Captiva facelift !

The facelifted Chevrolet Captiva (above) was launched recently by Naza Quest, distributor of Chevrolet in Malaysia. Chevrolet has big plans to introduce few new models in Malaysia soon, including the Colorado pickup truck that was just unveiled in Thailand. The facelifted Captiva carries a bolder front end. However, it looks 'softer' than the pre-facelift design with the rounder edges and huge roundish grille.

Equipment list of the Captiva is impressive, few examples include Hill Descent Control, Traction Control (TCS), Electronic Stability Control (ESP), Active Rollover Protection (ARP) and dual front and curtain airbags for safety! The Captiva has a 2.4litre engine which can churn out 162bhp and 225Nm at 4800rpm, therefore it should be able to haul the entire family easily on the freeway.

The cabin offers adequate space for each occupant. Most important of all, adults should be able to get comfortable in the 3rd row! The Captiva's 3rd row is larger than some MPV's 3rd row out there (although with not much luggage space to spare)! For RM155,185 on the road without insurance, it's a value for money car given its space, practicality and equipment. Captiva's closest competitor would be the also 7-seater Toyota Fortuner, but selling at about RM10k more expensive than Captiva.
