Toyota Fortuner facelifted... again !

Toyota IMV (Innovative International Multipurpose Vehicle) project has come a long way. The three models (Innova, Fortuner and Hilux) are selling well even until now, almost after 7 years Toyota introduced them into the market. UMW Toyota had introduced us the facelifted (for the second time) Toyota Fortuner to cope with the rapidly improving market.

The changes were done extensively for the exterior of the new Fortuner, ranging from a new front end which spotted the 'meaner' and bigger grille and for the rear, new clear-style lights design and bumper. There is also a TRD variant where the Fortuner will gain extra bodykits and 'TRD Sportivo' strips on the car.

Toyota made changes to the cabin according to customer's feedback, this prove that they listen to their customer's opinion! The interior is now featuring darker colour scheme and a horizontally-based design dashboard to give the cabin a wider feel. However, the wood trims in the cabin also feature darker tone, which looks obselete to me. Hopefully it's better looking when we see it in real life. Different steering wheel and instrument panel design (with blue illumination) for the facelifted Fortuner too.

Similar 160bhp and 241Nm 2.7 litre petrol and 102bhp and 260Nm 2.5 D-4D turbodiesel engines are allocated for the new Fortuner, both mated to a four-speed auto transmission. The facelifted Fortuner is priced at RM178,990 for the 2.7V and RM182,488 for the 2.7V TRD Sportivo. The 2.5G diesel is selling at RM167,990 and RM171,448 for the TRD Sportivo version, all on-the-road with insurance.
