Brio Amaze & Swift Dzire - For The Emerging Markets !

Countries like Thailand and India are considered as emerging markets of the automotive sector. To appeal to the younger generation and first time car buyers, car manufacturers like Honda and Suzuki has come up with eco cars and A-segment sedan to grab a stance in the market. The cars has to be cheap as well as qualify for tax benefit offered in the market such as India (by having an overall length of under 4m).

Honda Brio Amaze, the sedan version of the Brio hatchback, is the newcomer in its segment. Based on the Brio hatchback, it is transformed into a sedan of sub-4m (3990mm) long. Thankfully, Honda spent some effort in order to make the Brio Amaze look less awkward and to avoid the 'boot strapped on' look. Yes, Brio Amaze is not a candidate for beauty pageant but it's one of the best looking ones around.
Powered by a 1.2 litre engine, the SOHC i-VTEC produces 90PS and 110Nm of torque, mated with a CVT gearbox. The fuel consumption is rated at 20.4km/l. Market like India will get the 1.5 litre Earth Dreams i-DTEC turbodiesel. The Brio Amaze is the second car in Thailand to enjoy the eco car status after Nissan Almera (which uses a 1.2 litre engine in Thailand). With 400 litres of boot space, low income family will appreciate the Brio Amaze a lot.

Next up is the Suzuki Swift Dzire, which is obviously the sedan version of the Swift hatchback. Unfortunately, the design is out of proportion with its long front overhang but short rear overhang due to the limitation on the overall length of 4m (same case like the Brio Amaze).
The Swift Dzire comes with two engine options - a 1.2 litre petrol engine with 87bhp and 114Nm of torque, and a 1.3 litre diesel engine with 75bhp and an impressive 190Nm of torque. Boot space is a mere 316 litres, but still, it's 112 litres more than its hatchback counterpart. But then, Swift is a great car with good handling, and the same (if not better) can be expected for the Swift Dzire.

Though the sedan from Maruti performs well and is available at a lower price range and offers really large range of features, Honda’s car is more inspiring thing to buy as it looks smarter with contemporary looks and will surely add a class to your everyday driving!

interiors are not so appealing. One can get wooden and chrome finish even in VDI dezire. It doesn't seems to be in pictures of Amaze. Rest price will decide the future of this sedan.

The Swift Dzire comes with two engine options. So diesel engine is best than petrol engine. And also nice look and comfort car.
