Woke up 6 in the morning. After a trip to the lavatory, i put on a blue jean and a T-shirt and ready to rumble, erm... i mean set off from my house.
I got a 'hitch ride' from my dad to my future college to check-in for the hostel with my secondary school friend, Kelvin, who is going to be my hostel roommate in the future.
We reached our college at approximately 7.45am (that's quite early). Soon, we found out that the hostel office will not be opened until 9am! Sigh... We took our number and waited in the cafeteria for an agonising 1 hour before the door of the office opens.
While waiting, we saw 2 of our secondary school's friends, Rui Hou and Boon Kee also queueing to check-in for the hostel. What a coincidence and what a 'small' world!
At last, the office's door was opened just a few minutes before 9am and the hostel administrator and guard began to calling the number that the hostel applicants were holding. Kelvin and I received the lucky number 17th earlier on and soon, it's our turn to go into the office.
After giving them our forms, photos and RM4 for the Hostel ID, we were told to check out our room whether it's in a good condition or not.
OMG... Our room is located in the 4th floor. It will be my 'gym' to walk up and down the block later. I think the early birds get the top floor... :( The condition of the room ticked all the boxes (although a bit 'empty'), except for a removed curtain railing which someone fixed for us later on.
The room seems like vacant for a long time because there were a lot of dust flying around when we on the fan to check whether it is functioning or not.
Then, each of the males have to 'self-service' when it comes to taking mattress from the hostel office. The girls have mattress placed in their room already (a bit unfair). We have to carry the mattress up to fourth floor and place it on our bed.
Well, i'm not going to live in a hotel or inn, right? I think i'm complaining here :) Most people like me have creature comfort like air-cond, tv and computer in their home.
However, hostel does not have such amenities. I guess i have no choice but to live with it.
So, it will be better for me to enjoy it now while it last!
