Safest Cars in 2010 !

EuroNCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) has been one of the dedicated organization in testing car crashwortiness along with others like Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Recently EuroNCAP released their list of safest vehicles in 2010 according to their research.

90% of the cars tested in 2009 received a 5/5 star rating, but the rate declined to 65% for the cars tested in 2010. This is due to the changes in the criteria of crash testing of EuroNCAP. They have became more stringent and it's not just about surviving a crash anymore. Active safety like Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) contributes marks to the crash result since they are designed to reduce the posibility of a crash.

All the cars above got 5 stars!

One of the worst performers was the Landwind CV9 MPV, which received 2 stars out of 5 rating in EuroNCAP crash test. China made vehicles has to buck up in the safety department to instill trust in consumers.
