Proton Saga FLX with CVT Transmission!

First of all, CVT stands for Continuously Variable Transmission, where CVT is a stepless transmission to provide a smoother gear change and even improve the fuel consumption a little by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient state. It was first used in the Proton Inspira, then now it is available in the Saga FL! It's called 'Saga FLX' and comes with manual and 6-speed automatic CVT transmission.


Exterior wise, there are no changes other than the added 'FLX' badge at the rear compared to normal variant of Saga FL. For the Saga FLX it comes with 2 variants - Standard and Executive. Executive variant has extras of ABS, EBD, dual SRS airbags, pre-tensioner seatbelt, 4 power windows (with lifetime warranty!), steering wheel with audio switches etc.


What's special about the CVT transmission is that it has a SAT (Stepped Automatic Transmission) button beside the gear level, where it will simulate the driving experience of a standard 6-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing for both Standard and Executive variant of Saga FLX are RM41,998 and RM44,298 respectively. To me the roughly RM3k premium you pay for the Executive variant is worth every cent of it.
