Peugeot 3008 with RM143k price tag!

Local Peugeot distributor Nasim Sdn Bhd had launched their newest product in the market, the crossover Peugeot 3008! Incredibly, it's priced at RM143k! It will give its competitors a good run for their money.

In the interior department, thumbs up to Peugeot for offering a high spec and quality interior (except for the absence of GPS). It was designed with a cockpit of an aircraft in mind and to me, it looks creative and upmarket! Chrome strips in the right place added luxury into the cabin.

It comes with HUD (head up display) and an interior space which will be adequate for a small family. Air-cond is also available for the rear occupants. There are also cubby holes and storage compartments throughout the whole cabin, especially the huge console box located in between the front seats.

Flexibility is also one of the selling point of a car and the 3008 excel in it! Featuring a flexible luggage compartment and made multiple seating arrangement possible. It also has a split tailgate so that opening the tailgate in a tight parking space is made possible.

In the safety department, the 3008 scored a maximum of 5 stars in a recent EuroNCAP crash test! It comes with 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, Dynamic Roll Control, Hill Assist and other safety features which are not offered by its competitors.

Considering the same safety features that we are going to get in other countries, it will be no doubt that it will protect you or your family well if something unfortunate happens.

Since it's a crossover, it's unlikely that its owners will take it for an offroad adventure, moreover it's only front wheel drive. Equipped with panoramic glass roof and leather seats, Peugeot wants to make this car to have a more premium package instead of an adventure kind of car.

Mounted with a 1.6cc turbocharged engine capable of producing 156bhp, it has 6bhp more compared to it's closest competitor Honda C-RV! The downsides of this crossover are it's not as rugged in look compared to C-RV or other softroaders around (eg Nissan X-Trail and Toyota RAV4) and it's currently offered in front wheel drive only.

With the 3008 selling at RM143k, it undercuts C-RV by RM6k! the former's long list of equipment will attract quite an amount of potential customer to take a second look on it! Certainly a car for you if you want to have a lofty seating position but a smaller footprint compared to a SUV like Honda C-RV.
