Perodua Myvi 1.5 SE & Extreme !!!

I was searching for Bukit Bandar Puchong's Perodua showroom and immediately the flying Myvi caught my eyes! All thanks to it, I found the showroom!

"Lagi Power, Lagi Best" is the tagline for the 1.5 Myvi SE and Extreme. The signature yellow paintjob looks striking and can be easily noted from miles away. Together with the bodyskirts, huge rear spoiler and black front 'scoop', it will save the owners of new Myvi 1.5 Extreme the hassle to install bodyskirts themselves!

One thing to complain though, the 14 inch doesn't fit the sporty-themed Myvi SE & Extreme. Perodua should've increase the size to at least 15 inch to satisfy racer boys' need for style.

Black doesn't show off the black front 'scoop' and grey alloy wheels well :(

Aggressive stance from the back!

Above is the Perodua Myvi 1.5 SE variant. As you can see, it's without Extreme's front black scoop, rear skirting, chrome door handles and smaller rear spoiler.

This mean machine is powered by a 3SZ-VE 1.5litre, 102bhp engine used in the Alza, mated to either a four speed auto or five speed manual, producing almost similar power figure of Vios' 1.5litre engine with 109bhp.

However, Myvi 1.5 is lighter compared to Vios, mind you! It is now capable of running from 0-100km/h in just 9.98 seconds! From what I know, the suspension was also retuned. The rebound and compression rates for the shock absorbers are a little higher now, and stiffer spring for the back to improve handling.

The new interior colour scheme for the 1.5 Myvi (top), which is all-black, gave the cabin a sporty feel and also the impression of better quality materials are used compared to the two-tone 1.3 Myvi's cabin (bottom). The leather-wrapped steering wheel gripped better and was more comfortable than the 1.3 Myvi's.

Audio control on the steering wheel, silver-painted centre cluster and sports semi-bucket seats are some of the features for the SE's interior. Extreme has all the mentioned features but with leather seats, multimedia system with navigation, tinted windows and exclusive carpet mats design specially for it.

At first glance, everything was well built and on par with the quality of its competitors. Looks like Perodua improved the fit and finishing of the 1.5 Myvi, where everything felt solid and a little bit 'continental'. Most important, where most of the Malaysian care, the doors shut with a 'thud'!

Pricing for Myvi SE starts from RM50,900 (manual) to RM56,500 (auto, multimedia) while Myvi Extreme starts from RM58,200 (manual) to RM61,700 (auto). It seems like the Lagi Best just got better!

ADV: Volkswagen Das Auto Pre-event!

I am grateful to be invited by Volkswagen and Nuffnang to the Volkswagen Das Auto KL 2011 pre-event! Located in Bukit Jalil, it showcased Volkswagen current product line-up and also what Volkswagen's upcoming plans are.

In case if you are wondering, 'Das Auto' means 'The Car' in English, which is also Volkswagen's current tagline.

There were 4 race car simulators for us to play with in a hall. We all had fun trying it out, including me!

Volkswagen merchandises!

Then, we moved into The Dome to witness the start of the event. I was very impressed with the 360 degrees screen that kind of like bring us into a virtual world! Kudos to Volkswagen that bring it all out to impress us!

Out of the blue, Volkswagen cars were circling around The Dome! Check this out with the Volkswagen Passat circling The Dome!

Volkswagen also introduced Polo Sedan, Passat and Jetta, where they will be launched as CKD models in Malaysia in the near future. Being a CKD model, the vehicle will be priced cheaper and the market will be more competitive!

Volkswagen Eos in action! Autobot, transform!!!

Volkswagen Amarok! Still not available in Malaysia yet!

Petra Schreiber, Marketing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia rode the electric scooter into The Dome!

Since it's still not available in Malaysia, we were one of the first batches to check the sexy 2012 Volkswagen 21st Century Beetle out! It's no more a car where people will call it 'girly'!

The interior was spacious and built with high quality materials, a usual scene for a Volkswagen's cabin.

You will be able to check out the current VW products in the 100m long, pillarless 'caterpillar dome'! Wish I can test drive them!

I can't stop staring at the glossiness of this Touareg! Must... take... photo! I was astounded with the Touareg, the door closed with virtually no sound, very good refinement indeed!

I wish I can drive home with this hot babe!

Finally camwhored with Tian Chad at the end of the event! A huge thank you to Tian Chad for taking some of my photos :)

You can check out these Volkswagen models on 10th and 11th of September, 2011 at Bukit Jalil. An eye opening event that will not disappoint you!

First Time Car Waxing @ Orenzone !

Do you believe I got car wash, vacumm, polish and wax for RM48??!! It's made possible when I bought this deal from Milkadeal, where you can only get the similar deal in other places at twice as high the price!

By the way, it was done at Orenzone, Batu Caves. They use Autoglym products to groom your car:

Orenzone Car Saloon
G-73A, Jln Prima SG 3
Prima Sri Gombak
68100 Batu Caves
Selangor

(I'm gonna leave out the google map because Orenzone is built on a new site)

Ignore the Angry Birds please!!! Like usual, they will start with a nice, quick bath to clean the dust and other dirty stuff away from the paint job. Waxing can only be done on a clean and cold surface, I found this out when the Orenzone staff decided to wax the doors of my car first because the hood was hot.

While waiting for them to wash and dry my car, I looked around and saw their 'before and after' wall photos. Expensive cars like Audi TT and BMW 5-Series went to Orenzone for waxing!

After the surfaces of the car had completely dried up, the waxing process started! It was my first time watching a car waxing process and I was very curious and fascinated by it!

Love their attention to details!

After waxing the side, they moved on to the hood which cooled down by then. The staff told me waxing can retain its effect for half a year or one year if it's taken good care of.

I also asked them to do an extra service (but paid extra money), which is windscreen polishing. Now my windscreen is clean and more water repellant than before.

See the normal price of their services? Luckily I got mine from Milkadeal! It's so much cheaper!

LOOK! The paint of my car looks exactly like new! Do you believe that this belongs to a 9 years old car??!! Polish and wax are worth the money if you want your ride to be sparkling and charming :)

P.S. This is my 500th blog post! It's been a long way this moment!

P.P.S. Selamat Hari Merdeka and Hari Raya to everyone!

David Archuleta 'The Other Side Of Down' Concert !!!

I remember vividly when it comes to my first experience in meeting David Archuleta in Sunway Amphitheater 2 years back. About five thousands fans were there to catch him singing live for the first time in Malaysia. He was 19 years but he can perform, or even outperform some famous singers out there!

Thanks to Sony Music Malaysia, Digi and Nuffnang, I won a pair of David Archuleta's 'The Other Side of Down' concert ticket worth RM190 each by writing a blog entry!

Located in Stadium Negara, I can say the venue was not bad, considering it's one of the oldest indoor stadiums in Malaysia. However, the seats were not full considering David Archuleta has a huge fanbase in Malaysia :(

After an opening performed by Hao Ren (朱浩仁), David Archuleta came out from the backstage and perform 'Stomping the Roses' energetically as his first song! david, as always, performed with great vocal and superb falsetto. Many girls were shouting "I love you David!" and "You're so hot!" for the whole duration of concert!

David singing 'A Little Too Not Over You', you can hear the girls shouting in this video XD:

Video of David covering Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy'! Many girls went crazy for him indeed:

David performed 17 songs NON-STOP without any break! He'll just drink some water after performing few songs to reduce his thirst, then he'll continue his remaining song! Morever, he always jumped around when performing his songs, but his singing was not affected by fatigue or short of breath! I can personally assure you that he didn't lip-synched even for one sentence! Salute!

I hope next time I'll be standing this close to an artist in a concert next time to capture such beautiful picture :)
