Artsphere @ The Atmosphere, Seri Kembangan !

The Atmosphere located in Seri Kembangan is not your ordinary shopping area. It's unique not only because it will soon be occupied with dozens of retail stores and cafes, but there are also many interactive 3D murals drawn within the precinct of The Atmosphere! This makes your shopping experience even more fun!

There are 80 mural arts situated at every corner of The Atmosphere, 80 of them!!! All drawn by 20 talented  international and local artists.

I was pretty excited to visit Artsphere at The Atmosphere as I have never seen a mural before. *jakun* We were greeted by this cut-in-half Mini car nearby the grand entrance of The Atmosphere. Everyone was gathering nearby hyping about it, mesmerised with its beauty.

One of the 3D murals (Door with Stairs by Angel Ng) available at The Atmosphere! Posing here with me is Eris, my secondary school friend and also The Star journalist of the day!
Many murals have this footprints around them to serve as the optimum position to capture the murals!

My attempts at posing with the murals! It's great that many of the murals have realistic item for us to fiddle with! Hand with Strings, Piano & Boy on Tree House by an artists named Mono:

Cute boy!!

It's a great experience to see so many murals from up close since I haven't had the chance to travel up North (Penang) or down South (Johor) to check out their famous local murals. WIF-KL 2013 @ Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre !

The World Innovation Forum - Kuala Lumpur 2013 (WIF-KL 2013) is a premier annual event on innovation, jointly organised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and the Malaysian Innovation Foundation/Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM). I'm flattered to be invited to join the grand event as a media by SocialGrooves.com, where I learnt a lot on how to be innovative from the talks and exhibition.

Check out the amount of delegates attended from local and around the world! More than 1500 delegates from over 25 countries are expected to participate in the forum!

YB Datuk Dr. Ewon Ebin officiated the WIF-KL 2013 opening ceremony by signing on the screen.

After the opening ceremony has ended, YB Datuk Dr. Ewon Ebin and the media went down to the exhibition hall to check out the booths. The exhibition hall is filled with many innovation that benefit human's lives. YB enjoyed looking at demonstration performed by the participant of the exhibition, a prove that the exhibition is fun filled too!

YB trying out the purified water!

A device that will alert the owner of the car if the car has been stolen!

Clothes made of bamboo. They are claimed to be eco-friendly, easy to clean, odourless and comfortable. Interesting!

What an innocent looking robot with cool dance move! It reminds me of Honda's ASIMO robot!

One of the oversea delegates having a body checkup by KPJ.

Printis, a Lego-like game. A model of windmill and KLCC are built out of Printis!

This is my favourite innovation where many people looked at this innovative machine inquisitively. Yes, it's a pizza vending machine! Choose the type of pizza you like, pay and voilla! Your pizza is hot from the oven, in this case, vending machine!

This reminds me of my collegemate's final year project! We must make full use of the solar energy, a renewable energy.

Renowned speakers such as Göran Persson (former Prime Minister of Sweden), Mark Gallagher (Grand Prix Motor Racing Boss) and Sugata Mitra (global education superstar) are invited to give a speech in the forum. One of the speakers mentioned that Tesla is a car manufacturer that is an example of innovation. This is because Tesla does not have an outside dealer like other car manufacturers.

It's an eye opener to see the door gift for members of the media is a bag made of discarded banners and car seatbelts! Open the bag up and it can be used to hold envelops and even small plants! Suits well to the idea of innovation and creativity!

One of the presenters, Jason Lo (CEO of Tune Talk) remarked that if we have an innovative product, make sure we patent it and then use social media to look for investor. I think it's a great advice for young entrepreneurs! Hopefully we'll be able to see more innovation products and ideas in the next WIF-KL so that it can inspire more people to be more innovative. No wonder my lecturer highly recommended us to attend the WIF-KL exhibition last year to get some inspiration for our final year project!

Highlights of KLIMS 2013 @ Media Day !

Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2013 returned in the limelight after a three-year hiatus. The theme of this year's show is ‘Efficiency in Motion’. I'm grateful that I was able to join on the media day to have a glimpse at the grand event.

First up is one of our beloved Japanese car manufacturers, Toyota. Toyota displayed 2 out of 5 concept cars available in the KLIMS 2013, namely Fun-Vii and NS4.

Camry Hybrid will be CKD-ed if it is sold in Malaysia. Perhaps National Automotive Policy (NAP) will be announcing some good news soon.

Lexus joined in the fun with the IS F Sport, LS 460L, ES250 and LF-A!

Volkswagen has the largest booth of all manufacturers, displaying more than 10 vehicles in KLIMS!

A 'cut out' model of the Volkswagen Golf to display Volkswagen's engineering, safety and innovation.

Volkswagen has unveiled the Polo 1.6 Hatchback CKD (third locally assembled VW model after Passat and Polo Sedan) in the KLIMS, going to be on sales next year and the price tag should be around RM86k. Two airbags, ISOFIX, Intelligent Crash Response System, RCD 320 radio and Climatronic auto air-cond as standard.

Introducing Blu! Volkswagen's mascot for the Think Blue campaign.

Blu is so cute, I can't stop myself from taking a photo with Blu!

Peugeot 2008 launched, price estimated at RM118k. The equipment list is long - one-touch foldable rear seats, Smart Park Assist, a panoramic roof with mood lighting, auto dual zone air-cond, 6 airbags and ESP, to name a few.

Look ma! A Perodua with boot! It's called the Global Model Sedan (GMS) Buddyz!

Ford unveiled the Ecosport SUV, from RM98k-RM108k. Booking is open now!

Finally it has arrived to our shore, the long awaited Ford Fiesta with 1.0L Ecoboost turbo engine! With 125PS and 170Nm, it has the performance which rivals a 1.6 litre engine. From RM96k-RM98k.

Honda wowed us with the EV-STER, a two-seater convertible, electric small sports car.

Accord Plug-in Hybrid is in KLIMS 2013 too, capable of travelling up to 37.6km in EV mode with a combined fuel economy of 70.4km/L!

This is a huge surprise where Honda Malaysia launched the all-new 5th generation Honda Odyssey here just two weeks after its debut in Japan! Odyssey EX is priced at RM228k while EXV is priced at RM248k. 2.4 litre i-VTEC, second row captain seats with Ottoman, 6 airbags, VSA while EXV has additional LED active cornering lights, Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitor, smart parking assist system, multi-view camera system and multi-view rearview camera. A worthy contender of the Toyota Previa (widely known as Estima).

Nissan Note, soon to be launched I guess.

Get ready to be electrified by the Nissan Leaf! Second EV launched in Malaysia after the Mitsubishi i-MiEV. Priced at RM168,800, the Leaf is equipped with six airbags, VDC (Nissan's form of stability control) and hill-start assist. It's a big hatchback, with a boot space of 370 litres. So, it's suitable for small families as it's cheaper to run when Malaysia's electric rate is taken into comparison with the fuel price.

Classic cars such as the Dodge Challenger are displayed in one of the halls.

Ford T-Model.

Finally, it would not be an auto show without models!

Looking forward for more models participation of car manufacturers in the next KLIMS!

*UPDATE: Forgot to mention that Proton is absent from the KLIMS 2013 because there is no 'strategic' and big enough space for its booth. Too bad...
