Present to u the Peugeot 207CC !!!!!
The photo was taken after we had our 'yumcha' session. Too bad it was raining and couldn't show off its true beauty when it's... ahem... 'topless'!
The 207CC has a huge 'nose' and a gigantic 'mouth' at the front! Thankfully, the designers made the car look pretty and not out of proportion. Love the frameless door!
Melvin accompanied by Kelvin (in white t-shirt) came to my house with the top down, then Melvin opened the roof so that Kelvin can get into the miniscule rear seat easier than roof down.
Since I'm taller and have a bigger built than Kelvin, I have to sit in the front seat. Honestly the rear seats are only suitable for small kid. I don't think Kelvin felt comfortable in the back seat. The steel bars behind the rear seats are for protection purpose where it will elongates when the car detects a rollover is imminent.
I'm always a fan of Peugeot's interior. This 207CC was no exception! It came with full leather interior, everything felt plush and generously padded. Not to mention the soft touch plastic of the dashboard and supportive seats which will hug you well in a corner. The suspension also absorb most of the road imperfection well.
Design wise, one-piece dashboard design let the interior has a solid feel. With all the silver trims and chromes in the right place combined with a black interior, it gave the car a very luxury feel, albeit it was a small car from Peugeot (but came with a huge price tag at RM160k!).
However, I felt something was wrong with the ergonomics:
- The interior door opener was placed too far from the front occupants, near to the dashboard. I have to get my back off the seat in order to reach it.
- The seatbelts were placed too far behind for the driver and front passenger, but this is a common problem with coupe or cabrio which has only 2 long doors.
- The refrigerated glovebox was small in size.
I was expecting Peugeot's cars to have silky smooth ride but I was wrong. Once the car started moving, I can feel how the road condition was. Meaning that the cabin floor has vibration created from the road surface. Road noise and body roll was apparent but not excessive. One thing I love about the engine was the engine sound has a sporty tune. It was powerful too, mainly because 207CC is a lightweight car.
For a car of its price, I felt that Peugeot should offer GPS as standard, but instead, it was offered as an optional kit at a whooping RM6800 price tag!
One more thing, Peugeot 207CC's key was quite special. It has a built in immobiliser and the key part was able to be retracted by turning it in anticlockwise direction for 180 degree. Kinda like a pocket knife ^^
