Perodua Viva Exclusive at RM42K!

While the whole Malaysia is talking about the newly launched Proton Inspira, Perodua had quietly launched its new edition of Viva - Viva Exclusive. Previously I heard rumours about Perodua is developing a Toyota Alphard-like Viva, and I guess it's (partially) true!

The changes are subtle from the outside compared to Viva Elite. The differences are coloured alloy rims and Viva Exclusive grade mark, and the changes stop there. But there are new colour for Viva Exclusive like Classy Purple, Ivory White and Midnight Blue.

I would prefer if Perodua added chrome to at least the bottom of the side window and tinted the B-Pillar and rear window slightly darker, just to add more of the 'exclusive' feel to the car.

In the interior, the changes are the colour of the centre console, leather wrapped steering wheel, new meter combination design, leather seats and chrome finishing on the door and other places.

The price for Viva Exclusive is RM42,000 OTR inclusive of insurance for Peninsular Malaysia. It's cheaper than the Viva Elite EZi by RM2900, but Viva Exclusive does not come with airbags like Viva Elite EZi does.
To me, a manufacturer shouldn't leave out the aspect of safety just to save cost if they want to make a higher standard or more luxurious variant.
