The new Peugeot 5008 has won numerous awards abroad and features cutting edge technologies to enhance comfort, convenience and safety with an indicative price of RM165,000. The 5008 can viewed now at KLIMS 2010 from Dec 3 to 12.
We can expect it as an another good car because... well, it's a Peugeot! To me Peugeot is always like a premium brand like Mercedes, but offered at a much more affordable price.

Why I say so? It is because it features a head-up display unit (HUD) which displays essential driving information such as speed, cruise control/speed limiter and Distance Alert. Distance Alert assists the driver in ensuring the 5008 is within a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. This technology has a radar located behind the lower front bumper panel which measures the time in seconds between the vehicle in front and then transmits this data to the HUD.
Distance alert can be set between 0.9 seconds and 2.5 seconds, and it will alert the driver if the 5008 gets too close to the vehicle in front. Another feature of the 5008 has is the Available Space Measurement aid. Through the use of two sensors on the sides of the front bumper, a visual indication of the possibility of parking in a free space is displayed. Isn't all these features are only available at much more expensive car?

The Peugeot 5008 has a stunning 18sq ft panoramic glass roof to lighten up the cabin and plush leather interior. Technology and entertainment in the 5008’s interior to stop the passengers in the car from asking "are we there yet?" because of the boring ride will be entertained by the two seven-inch LCD screens located in the front seat head restraints, two Bluetooth wireless headsets and a connection console which can be connected to a DVD player or video-gaming consoles.
The 5008 is powered by a 1.6cc turbocharged petrol engine with direct petrol injection that produces 156bhp and 240Nm of torque, together with a 6-speed tiptronic automatic transmission.
For safety, the 5008 has a five-star NCAP safety rating, six airbags, Hill Start Assist, ESP, ABS, EBD, EBA, Anti-Skid Regulation, Dynamic Stability Control and anti-whiplash front seat headrest. Quite impressive for a MPV if compared to its closest competitors! Looking forward to see it on the road!
