Bright and Sunny Day Ahead for Nissan Sunny?

Nissan Sunny has been one of Nissan most well known models for its durability and longevity in Nissan's history of making cars. Now, Nissan has unveiled its all-new global sedan Nissan Sunny at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition. The all-new Nissan Sunny will be produced at the Dongfeng Nissan Huadu Plant in Guangzhou for the Chinese market and will go on sale first in China in January 2011 before making its way into 170 countries worldwide.

No doubt the all-new design improved the Sunny's exterior look by giving it a more contemporary feel, but something is not right too...


Well, although the side profile gave it a 'mini-Teana' look, the kinked up window line at the back somehow doesn't match with the other straight lines at the side. The bulged boot line doesn't match well with the sleek profile of the taillights too, albeit Nissan did a great job in designing the nice looking taillights.

Nissan says the car will be a projected class leader in fuel economy and is expected to appeal to young families in their 30s looking for a medium-sized sedan that combines a dynamic upscale design with the space, quality and features associated with the model and the brand.

Early spec revealed that the all-new Sunny will be powered by the HR15DE 1.5 litre block with dual injectors together with a new-generation Xtronic CVT transmission. Front MacPherson struts and a rear torsion beam for the Sunny.

The new Nissan Sunny will be priced from RMB 82.8K to 112.8K (1.04 million - 1.41million yen). I'm not sure whether it will be replacing Nissan Sentra or Nissan Latio in Malaysia, and hopefully the sales won't be affected by its love-or-hate design.
