Nissan Fuga - Proton Perdana replacement !

The truth has been unveiled! According to Berita Harian Online's report, Nissan Fuga will be our Proton Perdana replacement model in March or April! After the talks with Volkswagen, some concluded that Passat will be used as Perdana replacement model. However, things are different now. The Nissan Fuga is the chosen one and the next Perdana will be top-level government use only.

One thing pops out my mind: why Nissan? As far as I remember both manufacturers never joint venture in any product or shared any technology like Proton and Lotus. But I didn't mean that Nissan is bad! It's actually exciting to see how the Fuga will turn out to be our next Perdana.

Imagine me with a Proton steering...

Nissan Fuga is powered by a 2.5cc V6 VQ HR series engine which produce 225bhp. We can expect the all-new Perdana will get the same engine. First shipment of 150 units of the Fuga will be brought in as official cars for top ranking government officials. Or maybe the government is getting the hybrid version of Fuga? Who knows?

Finally the aging stretched Perdana(s) used by goverment officials are being replaced by something modern. Unfortunately, public won't be able to get a feel of how the car drives. However, if Proton gets encouraging market feedback, it will consider sales to the public. Fingers crossed!
