Proton Inspira 2.0 new variant - Executive.

Yup, that's right. Proton removed its Inspira 1.8 CVT variant in order to make way for the new Inspira 2.0 CVT Executive variant. This new variant is situated in between the 1.8 Manual and 2.0 CVT Premium variant. No manual transmission is available for the 2.0 yet.

No changes are done for the 2.0 litre MIVEC powerplant, which produces 147hp and 197Nm of torque @ 4250rpm. Exterior wise (compared with the Premium), the Executive gains a new 16-inch alloy rim design, trunk lid garnish but loses the bodykit. For its interior, the Executive make do with fabric seats instead of leather in the Premium, comes with 2 integrated rear headrest and receive a space-saver tyre. Other than that, the equipments and safety features are identical to the Premium variant.

Pricing for the Inspira 2.0 CVT Executive is RM86,900, which is about RM2k more expensive than the once 1.8 CVT. Thus, the pricing gives the Executive added value for money. But then, I'm sure many buyers will have dilemma on which to choose, the Executive or the top-of-the-line Preve due to the features-laden latter model.

P.S. I wonder Proton is still using the 'Smart guys get it' tagline for the Inspira or not...

I think it's a smart move from Proton since they did not manage to sell this car over the past 6 months and with the Preve entering almost the same segment, this car would have a harder chance to sell but I've seen preve on the road and feel the exterior and interior myself, thus... the winner goes to Inspira... i rather go for Saga or this Inspira than that ugly looking Kia Forte wannabe - Preve!
