Daihatsu UFC Concept - Next-gen Avanza?

 Daihatsu Ultra Functional Compact (UFC) Concept has debuted at IIMS in Jakarta. The UFO UFC is a stylish people mover with hints that it will become the next generation Avanza, or Daihatsu Xenia in Indonesia. Unfortunately, as a concept, plenty of the extreme design features won't be able to make it into production. But of course everyone will hope that the production version will stay as true to the concept's design as possible. 

The UFC is a study on 6-seater, but production version of this car is most probably a 7-seater. With the expertise of Daihatsu in designing compact car with ample interior space, the UFC has minimal front and rear overhang but with a wheelbase long enough to provide adequate space for all of its occupants. It is also made B-pillarless and comes with rear sliding door to ease ingress and egress, hopefully these will make their way into the production car!

 Obviously the tablet-like centre console won't be available in the production version because of cost issue. The 2nd row seats are designed to slide electronically and placed behind the front seats, while the 3rd row can be folded down when more luggage space is needed. No news on the powertrain yet.

Do you want this to be the next Avanza? I certainly hope so because the Avanza available currently looks a bit too wacky for me.
