Malaysia's Nissan Almera spec revealed!

Like what stated in the picture above, the upcoming Nissan Almera is available for booking now! It is available in 3 variants - Grade E (comes with the choice of 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto), Grade V (4AT) and Grade VL (4AT).

Every grade comes with the same 1.5litre HR15DE engine which produces 100PS at 6000rpm and 134Nm at 4000rpm. The figures might not be as many as its competitors, but you'll get fuel consumption figure of 14.9km/l in return! Equipment wise, Grade E has multi-informational display, rear armrest, black-coloured finishing for the door armrest as well as inside door handles, but surprisingly it has chrome outside door handles eventhough it's the entry level variant.

Grade V gets additional fog lights, silver finishing for the door armrest, chrome finishing for the inside door handles and fine vision meter. The top-of-the-line Grade VL receives the good stuff such as door mirror with turning lamps, i-Key (keyless entry), push-start button, steering wheel buttons and auto air-conditioning.

It's weird to see the Grade E Almera comes with driver airbag only while its competitors are offering two. Perhaps Nissan has to balance the production cost and selling price to set the attractive estimated price of RM70k-RM85k for the Almera. Every grade comes with ABS, EBD and BA and Grade V & VL get dual airbags.

Other than the impressive fuel economy, Almera's selling points include the generous 636mm rear legroom which is more than even some C-segment cars, and the huge 490 litres boot (D-segment Teana's boot is only 16 litres larger). I can see that the Almera will appeal a lot to youngster and small family with the affordable pricing too!

It does look good. However I can't help but feel it is a bit "narrow"?
