Mitsubishi Mirage Coming to Malaysia in Nov 2012 !

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has officially announced that its upcoming product, the Mirage, is open for booking and will be launched in November, and the first 500 buyers will receive a special gift. The Mirage, an eco-car, is focuses on fuel efficiency rather than performance. However, being a product from Mitsubishi, handling wise wouldn't be that bad either.

The Mirage will be using a 1.2 litre engine which produces 78 PS and 100Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The performance numbers might be a little on the low side on the paper, but should be sufficient to propel the car in acceptable pace given its lightweight of 850kg. This also enable the great achievement of 21km/l fuel economy.
Price ranging from RM56k to RM64k for the manual and automatic transmission respectively. It's priced close to its competitor Suzuki Swift, but is slightly more expensive than the Hyundai i10. The Mirage comes with Dual SRS airbags, illuminated instrument cluster, leather-wrapped steering wheel and surprisingly, touchscreen audio with USB/iPod connectivity. The higher spec Mirage (GS) gets front fog lights, keyless entry, push-start button and auto climate control.

*Update: 3 trims are available, entry level GL manual, GL CVT and GS CVT.

Wow...just, wow. The Mitsu Mirage was meant to be a simple, economical car that can be driven and maintained in an affordable fashion, not some ricer. It would look ten times better but it's a cool car! Luv the engine though. thanks, @Allisa from pajero
