Proton Preve & Exora debuted in Australia

Both Proton Preve and Exora had their wraps off at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show and will be on sale in 2013. Currently, Preve is open for booking where the base model GX manual is priced at AUS$18,990 (RM60k) while GX CVT at AUS$20,990 (RM66k).

However, Aussies might be disappointed because right now the Preve is only offered with one engine option, which is the 1.6 litre IAFM+ engine rather than together with the more powerful 1.6 litre CFE engine (will be introduced in mid-2013) available in Malaysia's Preve. For your information, the IAFM+ engine produces 107 hp at 5750rpm and 150Nm of torque at 4000rpm, while the CFE engine produces 138 hp at 5000rpm and 205Nm of torque from 2000-4000rpm.

Eventhough Australia's Preve comes with a lower output engine, it has plenty of features as standard such as the ABS, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and 6 airbags. This enables the Preve to have a higher chance to achieve 5-star in Australia New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP).

Proton Preve comes with 5 years or 150,000km warranty, 5-year roadside assist and 5-year free service in Australia. With such affordable price and good aftersales offering, Preve might help Proton to gain some stances in Australia's market.
