2014 Toll Rate Hike is Inevitable?

Based on the title alone the picture is legit to make its way into 9GAG (a just-for-fun website). For those who can't read Malay language, it means "Road users can use non-highway roads (if not satisfied with the toll hike)" Like a friend of mine said, it's like suggesting people to walk around naked if clothes are expensive. After the petrol price hike, electricity rate hike and the unfortunate flood water hike, now, toll rate hike in year 2014. Isn't toll rate supposed to go down instead of up?

Below is the tentative hike for each highway in Malaysia (not an official source):

• LEBUHRAYA SUNGAI BESI BESRAYA RM1.30 to RM2.00 
• LEBUHRAYA BARU PANTAI (NPE) RM1.60 TO RM2.00 
• LEBUHRAYA DAMASARA/PUCHONG (LDP) RM1.60 TO RM2.10 
• LEBUHRAYA BERTINGKAT AMPANG (AKLEH) RM1.50 TO RM2.50
• LEBUHRAYA KAJANG (SILK) RM1.00 TO RM1.30 
• LEBUHRAYA KL-PUTRAJAYA (MEX) RM2.50 TO RM3.50 
• LEBUHRAYA KAJANG-SEREMBAN (LEKAS) RM1.90 TO RM2.30 
• LEBUHRAYA TRAFIK KL BARAT (SPRINT) RM1.50 TO RM2.50
• PANTAI RM1.50 TO RM2.50 
• DAMASARA RM1.00 TO RM1.50 
• KIARA RM2.00 TO RM3.00
• LEBUHRAYA LEBAH KLANG SELATAN (SKVE) RM14.96c/KM TO 16.46c/KM 
• LEBUHRAYA KORIDOR GUTHRIE (GCE) RM1.40 TO RM1.90

The journey from my workplace in Seksyen 51A back to Puchong during the evening 5pm rush hour took me additional 20 minutes more if I opt to avoid the LDP Sunway toll (which is also congested). It seems that the extra 20 minutes will be well spent after the toll rate hike (from RM1.60 to RM2.10).
