2013 Toyota Vios launched in Malaysia !

Vios G.
The third generation of Toyota Vios has arrived (with more than 8,000 bookings currently!) and is available in 5 variants - J (manual), J (auto), E (auto), G (auto) and TRD Sportivo (auto). The B-segment Toyota Vios has always been a popular model among Malaysian thanks to the bulletproof reliability of the brand, low running cost and affordable pricing. One more selling point is added for the third generation - Styling.

Gone is the nickname 'dugong' for the previous generation Vios. This time around, sharper styling is adopted to make it more appealing to the buyers and it's a job well done. It's 110mm longer now at 4410mm, 15mm taller at 1475mm but width and wheelbase remained at 1700mm and 2550mm respectively. Boot now holds 506 litres, which put some D-segment sedan to shame.

Engine wise, the same but improved 1.5 litre VVT-i unit which produces 109PS at 6000rpm and 141Nm of torque at 4200rpm from its predecessor is used. Similar 4-speed ECT auto gearbox is brought over too while manual has 5-speed. Aerodynamic is improved from 0.29Cd to 0.28Cd, thanks to the aero fin around the wing mirror and the taillights as well as the 'catamaran' roof. The Vios is lighter by 10kg-30kg depending on the variant. Thus, all these improvement contributed to a 5% improvement in fuel efficiency over its predecessor.
Vios TRD.
Aerodynamic of 0.28Cd.

The most noticeable design change in the all-new Vios' cabin is the reposition of the instrument panel from the center of the dashboard to the back of the steering wheel. Stitching effect on the dashboard and the 'floating' centre stack give the cabin a contemporary and upmarket look.

Some main features available for the G variant onwards are acoustic windscreen, keyless entry and push-start button, ivory cabin, multi-info display, all-round disc brakes (J & E comes with rear drum brakes) and leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio button. Unfortunately, J variant doesn't have split-fold rear seats.

Finally, 2 airbags are standard across the range as well as ABS, EBD, BA and ISOFix. VSC is absent though even for the TRD Sportivo.
Every variant comes with 2 airbags.

Pricing on-the-road with insurance for J (manual) is RM73,200, J (auto) is RM77,300, E (auto) is RM82,900, G (auto) is RM88,500 and TRD Sportivo (auto) is RM93.200. 3-year/100,000km warranty is offered.
